Surveyor Affairs Office

The Surveyor Affairs Office used to be an official capacity of human resources being employed to “survey” The Outside, but because of the high risk and developing private industry, it became privatized and the Office slowly had more and more permissions and structure revoked and dissolved. Now, the Surveyor Affairs Office is responsible for centralizing the concept of “Associations,” ranking and giving assessments for contractors, and backing Associations that employ and deploy contractors. Associations do not have the same capabilities and freedoms as a corporation, so the Surveyor Affairs Office represents them in the cutthroat world of Cities.

This office is mostly known for assessing contractors and officially licensing them, giving them the freedom to access certain areas of the City and the Walls with the expectation that findings discovered are to be used for the proper purpose of technological reclamation and advancement, even if they choose to not cooperate with their Association.

However, they also provide basic services to licensed contractors, and also give life insurance to their employing Associations, normally not enough to make up for the sunk cost of a contractor that dies with expensive or recently-installed implants, but enough for Associations to invest in a diverse dossier of contractors.
